Provided is an LED lighting device capable of controlling loss in a power supply circuit. The present invention is an LED lighting device that uses one or more LED elements in a lighting light source, wherein the device has a commercial power supply, a load unit that includes the LED elements, and a switching-mode power supply for controlling voltage and current in the commercial power supply and thereby providing electric power to the load unit. The switching-mode power supply is constituted only as step-up type and not as step-down type. |
