A subsea flexible riser installation 10 includes a seabed foundation 20 and a steep-configuration flexible riser 12 anchored to the seabed by the foundation. An attachment formation 18 is fixed relative to the riser and a locating formation 24 is fixed relative to the foundation 20, both at positions elevated above the seabed. The locating formation 24 is engaged with the attachment formation 18 on the riser 12. This holds the attachment formation 18 and the riser against movement when so engaged, protecting the base of the riser 12 from over-bending and fatigue. A wire may be attached to formation 18 to pull the formation 18 and the riser 12 downwardly. |
