PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent durability degradation of a transmission is caused by generation of torque higher than the acceptable torque of the transmission, in an internal combustion engine control system in which exhaust gas temperature is decreased by fuel weighing or ignition advance when parts of the exhaust system are heated to high temperatures. SOLUTION: A temperature TC of a catalyst device is estimated (S5). When the catalyst temperature TC is higher than a predetermined fuel weighing temperature requirement TCM (S8), fuel quantity is increased according to a fuel weighing factor KMR (S9-11) and ignition advance is corrected according to an ignition advance value ADV1 (S12). When the ignition advance value ADV1 exceeds a maximum advance limit ALTM which is determined according to a number of revolutions per minute NRPM, the ignition advance value ADV1 regulates to the maximum advance limit ALTM (S13-15), thus preventing excessive increase of torque. |
