The invention relates to a stackable luggage trolley which is suitable for use on escalators, having two rear wheels (2) and having front casters (3), having means (4) for supporting the trolley on an escalator, having a chassis (5) and a loading platform (6), and having members (7) which, at their bottom end (7.1), have wheel forks (8) for accommodating the rear wheels (2) and, at the top end (7.2), are equipped with a pushing device (9), wherein actuation of the pushing device (9) allows a braking device (10) for the rear wheels (2) to be actuated and wherein the braking device (10) is released when the trolley is stacked in an identical trolley, wherein a triggering means (11) is provided for triggering the braking device (10), and wherein each luggage trolley (1) has at least one transverse strut arrangement (12) connecting the two rear wheels (2) to one another. The invention is distinguished in that each luggage trolley (1), in the locked state, has a triggering means (11) which is arranged on the same plane as, or beneath, the transverse strut arrangement (12), and in that each triggering means (11) of the luggage trolley (1) is raised by a further luggage trolley (T) being pushed in, and the braking action of the braking device (10) is released.
