<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective member of high mechanical properties though it is inexpensive by solving a problem in which compressive strength required for the protective member cannot be sufficiently improved. <P>SOLUTION: This protective member is composed of a boron carbide sintered compact mainly composed of boron carbide and containing graphite and silicon carbide, in particular, content of graphite is 1-10 mass% to boron carbide sintered compact of 100 mass%, and content of silicon carbide is 0.5-5 mass% boron carbide sintered compact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
