<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that it takes time and labor for a seller to contact a purchaser by e-mail and package and ship merchandize, the problem that inventory of merchandise requires a suitable place, and the problem that a delivery service which doesn't compensate for the price of an article lost during delivery must be used in many cases, in electronic commerce of auction or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In a merchandise inventory and shipping system, merchandise of a plurality of sellers is stocked without transfer of ownership. When a purchaser appears, the system transmits a mail with contents prepared in agreement with a seller, to the purchaser and executes required procedures on behalf of the seller. Then, the system sets merchandise to a transportable state by packaging the merchandise, or the like and delivers it to a transporter, on behalf of the seller.
