PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent water, a foreign matter or the like from intruding into gas cock main bodies 2a, 2b, in a protection cap for a gas cock comprising cap parts 1a, 1b fitted around onto tips of connection cylindrical parts 5, 6, an attaching ring 11 fitted around onto the gas cock main bodies 2a, 2b, and a connecting band 10 for connecting the both, as to the protection cap attached to the gas cock, comprising the gas cock main bodies 2a, 2b provided with a cock storage part having the projected connection cylindrical parts 5, 6 and for storing a cock for opening and closing a gas flow passage, and an operation knob part 27 fit around to be relatively turnably to a cylindrical portion 41 extended from an open end of the cock storage part and for turn-operating the cock. SOLUTION: The attaching ring 11 has a cylindrical body comprising an elastic material, and concurrently contacting closely with the whole circumferential area of an opening end 27a of the operation knob part 27 and the whole circumferential areas in barrel parts of the gas cock main bodies 2a, 2b.
