PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera and a lens unit with which image data, to which predetermined filtering processing is applied can be readily obtained. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with the camera body 3, a lens unit having a photographic optical system 17 which forms the image of a subject, an imaging means 17 of photographing the image of the subject and converting it into electrical image information, an algorithm storage unit 21 which stores a predetermined image processing algorithm, and an image processing means 10 of processing the image information, based on the image processing algorithm. The lens unit 5 is equipped with the algorithm storage unit 21, and the lens unit 5 and algorithm storage unit 21 are fitted attachably/detachably to/from the camera body 3.
