PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coding method and device for coding a digital video content.SOLUTION: A coding method for coding the picture of an image sequence has a step for dividing a picture into a plurality of small portions, a step for once coding at least one of the plurality of small portions selectively in frame coding mode, and once coding at least one of the plurality of small portions selectively in field coding mode, and a step for once coding at least one of the plurality of small portions selectively in the intra-coding mode, and once coding at least one of the plurality of small portions selectively in the inter-coding mode.
