PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator in which hydrogen gas and/or oxygen gas can easily be generated.SOLUTION: The disclosed gas generator comprises a tank in which an aqueous liquid is to be placed, and a first electrode 121 and a second electrode 122 placed in the tank. An example of the disclosed gas generator comprises a partition 130 comprising a separator 131, a tank 110 in which an aqueous liquid 10 is to be placed, and the first electrode 121 and the second electrode 122. The tank 110 includes a first tank 111 and a second tank 112 that are partitioned by the partition 130. The first electrode 121 is placed in the first tank 111.
