The present invention relates to the technical field of information security. Disclosed are an identity authentication method and device. The method comprises: providing, to an authentication object, prompt information used for prompting to make a target authentication action, wherein the target authentication action comprises a facial expression and/or a head action; collecting at least one image; detecting whether authentication action information of the authentication object in the at least one image matches reference action information when the target object makes the target authentication action; and if the authentication action information of the authentication object matches the reference action information, determining to pass the identity authentication of the authentication object. The problem of the low accuracy of identity authentication on a terminal caused by the fact that the identity authentication can be passed even by using a picture or a video is solved, and accordingly the effects are achieved that the authentication process requires real-time participation of an authentication object and the accuracy of the identity authentication is improved. |
