PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assist system and a drive assist method capable of supporting driving of a vehicle by displaying a signal row as an object of travel support in alignment with an actual signal row.SOLUTION: The drive assist system includes: a signal information acquisition unit that acquires a piece of signal information relevant to traffic signal lamps which are installed at each of plural intersections of a road on which a vehicle travels; an information determination unit that determines whether or not the signal information acquired by the signal information acquisition unit includes a piece of cycle information representing time-series changes in lamp colors on each of the traffic signal lamps; and an image data generation unit that generates a piece of image data which represents an image of each of the traffic signal lamps according to a determination result made by the information determination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
