PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the measurement of an inter-core crosstalk when a multi-core fiber is used for transmission.SOLUTION: An optical transmission system includes: a signal light generation unit which generates signal light to be transmitted through each core disposed in the multi-core optical fiber, and disposes a different synchronous signal in each signal light frame on the basis of each core; and a crosstalk measurement unit which determines the existence or non-existence of the occurrence of an inter-core crosstalk, on the basis of correlation of each synchronous signal included in the signal light which is transmitted through each core disposed in the multi-core optical fiber. The crosstalk measurement unit, on determining the occurrence of a crosstalk, measures a crosstalk amount from the correlation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
