PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging/discharging circuit for electric double layer capacitor which enables quick charge and discharge without letting flow a ripple current caused by a device connected to a power source or an electric double layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The charging/discharging circuit 8 for the electric double layer capacitor is equipped with a series body 19 which comprises a switching means 4 with its one end connected with the output positive electrode bus of an AC-DC converter 2 and with its other end connected to the positive electrode of the electric double layer capacitor 7 and a resistor 5, and a diode 6 which is connected in parallel with the series body 19 in such a direction that the cathode side connects with the output positive electrode bus. At charge of the electric double layer capacitor 7, the above switching means 4 is switched on, and after completion of the charge, the above switching means 4 is switched off.
