PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of converting moving picture data into a video signal of the interlace system, whereby a moving picture is displayed smoothly. SOLUTION: A memory card 15 stores moving picture data in advance, an image composite circuit 64 composes two frame image data, consecutive in time series in moving picture data stored in the memory card 15 to produce composite image data, a frame image converting section 68 divides an image denoted by the composite image data into two pieces of field image data, a video signal conversion section 70 converts the field image data to which the divided composite image data correspond, when succeedingly consecutive filed image data in time series are field image data that denote a succeeding frame image, and converts the field image data into the video signal, when the succeedingly consecutive field image data in time series are field image data that denote the same frame image.
