REDUCTION GEAR, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE AND WORM WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear, an electric power steering device and a worm wheel which can reduce the generation of noise over a long period of time.

SOLUTION: The tooth tip surface 63 of each tooth 61 in a worm wheel 21 has a release groove 64 for a lubricant which is a longitudinal groove extending in the tooth trace direction 65 of the tooth 61. Buffering material particles of the lubricant can be prevented from being crushed between the tooth tip surface 63 of the worm wheel 21 and the tooth bottom 62 of the worm 20 in an engagement area A.
