PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptically polarizing plate which does not cause malfunction such as delamination even under conditions of high temperature and high humidity by simplifying a layer structure of the elliptically polarizing plate.

SOLUTION: The elliptically polarizing plate comprises: a transmissive protection film; a polarizing element; and an optically anisotropic element, stacked in this order, wherein the optically anisotropic element includes a liquid crystal layer in which a liquid crystalline composition at least exhibiting an optically positive uniaxiality is subjected to nematic alignment in the liquid crystalline state and thereafter the alignment is fixed.
