<p>A pressure medium operated starting system (1) for a multicylinder piston engine comprising a pressure medium source (2) and a pipe system (4), which connects the pressure medium source to each cylinder (3), and a starting valve (7) in conjunction with each cylinder as well as timing equipment (10) for the operation of control valves, which timing equipment comprises a control part, which is in mechanical connection with the rotating part (15) of the engine.
