<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease drastic attenuation of a potential caused by a hole trap during photo-destaticization by a light in an image holder having a surface layer. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (U) is disclosed, which is equipped with an image holder (PRy), having a protective layer (15) formed on the surface to protect the inside; a non-contact discharge type charger (CCy) for charging the surface of the image holder (PRy); a transfer device (T1y) for transferring a toner image on the surface of the image holder (PRy); an image holder cleaner (CLy) for cleaning the surface of the image holder (PRy), after an image is transferred by the transfer device (T1y); a non-contact discharge type pre-cleaning destaticizer disposed in the downstream side of the transfer device (T1y) and on the upstream side of the image holder cleaner (CLy) and imparting charges to the surface of the image holder (PRy); and an optical-destaticizer (2y) disposed on the downstream side of the transfer device (T1y) and the upstream side of the image holder cleaner (CLy) and irradiating the surface of the image holder (PRy) with light for destaticization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
