PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact air conditioner for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 1 for the vehicle is provided with an air conditioner casing 2 forming an air passage 2a, a revolving door 8 arranged inside the air conditioner casing 2 to revolve around a support shaft 8a, and a revolving door driving means 9 arranged outside the air conditioner casing 2 to drive the revolving door 8 to revolve. The revolving door driving means 9 is provided with a driving means case 18, a motor, and an output shaft 28 to be connected with the motor. The revolving door 8 is connected to the output shaft 28 through the support shaft 8a. An outer face 18b of the driving means case 18 in the air conditioner casing 2 side faces the air passage 2a and is flush with the inner face 17c of the air conditioner casing.
