This management system for a mining machine is provided with the following: a detection unit, mounted on a mining machine that moves around a mine in which a plurality of landmarks have been set up, that contactlessly detects the positions of said landmarks relative to the mining machine; a movement control unit that corrects the current position of the mining machine on the basis of landmark positions obtained in advance and landmark positions acquired by the detection unit and makes the mining machine move via dead reckoning; a movement restriction unit that stops the mining machine when said mining machine has moved a first distance after starting movement via dead reckoning; and a movement-restriction relaxation unit that extends said first distance if a landmark position obtained in advance exists within a second distance, in the direction of travel of the mining machine, of the position that the mining machine will reach upon moving a first distance after starting movement via dead reckoning.
