The liner for a tunnel drilled through rock and earth consists of a metal sealing skin made e.g. from 5-metre rolled panels that can be unrolled inside the tunnel. The outer surfaces of the panels have spacers (3) that create a gap from the tunnel's inner rock or masonry surface that can be subsequently filled with a self-hardening material such as a plastic foam, micro-concrete or resin. The injected material is capable of adhering to the inner surface (F) of the tunnel and the outer surface of the metal panels, made e.g. from stainless steel, and covering reinforcing strips (30). |
