An analog-to-digital (AD) converter (20) constituting a column analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in an image sensor has an oversampling AD converter (21) to which an output voltage from a pixel part is inputted, a cyclic AD converter (22) to which a residual analog signal of the oversampling AD converter (21) is inputted, and a counter (23) for adding a digital signal outputted from the oversampling AD converter (21) and a digital signal outputted from the cyclic AD converter (22). A controller (52) is configured so as to dynamically assign the bit counts of the oversampling AD converter (21) and cyclic AD converter (22) while keeping the total number of bits of the oversampling AD converter (21) and cyclic AD converter (22) constant. |
