A treatment instrument is provided with: a sheath (10) which has a longitudinal axis; and a wire which has a loop shape at the distal end, is inserted through the sheath so as to be capable of being moved forward and backward, and has a loop section having, in order from the distal end toward the proximal end, a first bent section (31), a pair of second bent sections (32), and a pair of third bent sections (33), the first to third bent sections (31, 32, 33) being bent so as to protrude toward the outside of the loop shape. In the loop section, the length (L2) of a second region which extends from each of the pair of second bent sections to the corresponding one of the pair of third bent sections is greater than the length (L1) of a first region which extends from the first bent section to each of the pair of second bent section and than the length (L3) of a third region which extends from each of the pair of third bent sections to the proximal end of the loop section, and the angle (β) which is formed inside the loop section between the first region and the second region is less than or equal to the angle (α) formed on the distal end side between the first region and the longitudinal axis. |
