The present invention is provided with: gear chamfering tools (44a, 44b) that perform cutting for chamfering a tooth profile ridge section (WR) of a gear to be cut (W); tool holding parts (42a, 42b) for holding the gear chamfering tools (44a, 44b) at one end portion thereof; substantially linear movement means (43a, 43b) which cause substantially linear movement of the other end portion opposed to the one end portion for holding the gear chamfering tools (44a, 44b) in the tool holding parts (42a, 42b); and circular movement means (49a, 49b) for causing circular movement of an intermediate portion between the one end portion for holding the gear chamfering tools (44a, 44b) and the other end portion subjected to the substantially linear movement by the substantially linear movement means (43a, 43b) in the tool holding parts (42a, 42b). By combining the substantially linear movement means (43a, 43b) and the circular movement means (49a, 49b), substantially elliptical movement of tip end parts (56a, 56b) of the gear chamfering tools (44a, 44b) is achieved. |
