PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize early warming-up with a simple structure.MEANS: A cylinder block 1 is formed with a block water jacket 7, and a cylinder head 2 is formed with a two-layer (two-stage) water jacket composed of a lower layer water jacket 8 and an upper layer water jacket 9. In a water feeding passage 23, a switching device 24 for switching water passing to the block water jacket 7 and water passing to the upper layer water jacket 9 is disposed. In a worming-up operation, cooling water flows only in the upper layer water jacket 9 of the cylinder head 2, and does not flow in the lower layer water jacket 8. Therefore, early warming-up is made possible. By heating the cooling water with an EGR cooler, it can contribute to the early warming-up. In a normal operation state after the finishing of warming-up, the cooling water flows from the block water jacket 7 to the lower layer water jacket 8 and the upper water jacket 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
