PURPOSE: Provided is a lithium ion secondary battery, which has increased height of an electrode assembly resulting from exclusion of a beading portion, and thus shows maximized battery capacity. CONSTITUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery(100) comprises: an electrode assembly(110) obtained by winding a cathode plate(113), anode plate(115) and a separator(114), many times; a cylindrical can(120) provided with a cylindrical lateral surface(121) having a space for binding the electrode assembly, wherein a bottom surface(122) is formed at the bottom of the cylindrical lateral surface and an opening is formed at the top, and a projection(124) with a predetermined length is formed at the top of the inside of the cylindrical lateral surface in order to prevent the electrode assembly(110) from escaping out of the top; a cap assembly(130) joined to the top of the projection of the cylindrical can; and an electrolyte(140) injected into the cylindrical can(120). |
