A fitting for a vehicle seat, particularly a locking fitting for the seat of a motor vehicle, comprising a first fitting part, a second lockable fitting part which can rotate in relation to the first fitting part, at least one bolt (17) which, in the longitudinal direction thereof, is oriented in a radial direction in which it is moveably guided between guide elements of the first fitting part with clearance a crosswise direction, and which cooperates, with the radial outer side thereof, with the second fitting part for locking purposes, also comprising an eccentric which impinges upon the bolt (17) in order to lock it on the radial inner side thereof and which causes it to move radially in an outer direction. The bolt (17) is divided into at least two segments (19,2) along at least one dividing line (18).
