PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a device composed by using a remote control instead of a conventional wall surface switch can not handle a luminaire fixed to a ceiling surface. SOLUTION: In a switch turned on/off by changeover of an operation knob installed on a wall surface or the like, this wall surface switch remote control device comprises a remote control transmission part, a remote control reception part, a control part for controlling a circuit by receiving a signal of the reception part, a drive part driving by a signal from the control part, and a device having an operation part contacting the operation knob of the switch to mechanically execute a changeover operation by the drive of the drive part, and has a structure to be mounted to the wall surface from the upper side of the switch. Thereby, the remote control device can be adapted to most appliances operated by a wall surface switch, and, even in the case of a fixed type luminaire, construction for replacing the luminaire itself is not required.
