PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with excellent operability that is provided with a shake prevention function for correcting an image blur and an object image display function, and surely displays an image whose camera shake is corrected. SOLUTION: The digital camera (camera) is provided with a shake prevention drive circuit for preventing a blur of an object shake due to the shake of the digital camera, a monitor and the like for displaying the object image. When the digital camera determines that shake correction is indicated in a step S12, the shake prevention drive circuit is activated (step S13). In this case, the monitor is driven (step S16) independently of the presence/absence of the setting of a display mode (step S15) and an instruction of object image display (step S25), and the object image is displayed as a through-image (step S18). When the image shake correction is indicated in this way, the object image is automatically displayed independently of the presence/absence of the setting of the display mode.
