PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high purity long chain aliphatic phosphite ester efficiently by using easily handleable starting materials and without passing through a special purification process. SOLUTION: This method for producing the aliphatic phosphite ester: P(OR<SP>2</SP>)<SB>3</SB>, is provided by performing an ester interchange reaction of an aliphatic phosphite ester: P(OR<SP>1</SP>)<SB>3</SB>, with an aliphatic alcohol: R<SP>2</SP>OH.
