PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet separating device capable of smoothly separating the highest-positioned paper sheet one by one from a plurality of stacked printed paper sheets and capable of smoothly performing the post processing for each of the paper sheets. SOLUTION: This paper sheet separating device for separating the highest-positioned paper sheet in order from the plurality of printed paper sheets stacked in a predetermined arrangement position comprises a suction unit provided with a suction pad for sucking the highest-positioned paper sheet and a first blowing means structured to blow air toward one end of the stacked paper sheets along the surface direction of the stacked paper sheets. The suction unit provided with the suction pad freely to come close or separate to/from the stacked paper sheets is structured to raise the highest-positioned paper sheet by sucking the highest-positioned paper sheet to separate it from the lower side paper sheets.
