PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for mounting an internal combustion engine on a vehicle, which avoids the interference of an actuator for a cam phase control with a damper housing or the like, and suppresses the enlargement of the size or the increase of a vehicle body weight or the like. SOLUTION: At the rear part of the right and left of an engine room 2, damper housings 21, 22 for supporting an upper end of a damper are projectingly provided on the engine 3 side. The damper housings 21, 22 have a semi-truncated cone shape, and the upper part of the right side damper housing 22 faces a cylinder head cover 17 of the engine 3 having a predetermined clearance (t).
