PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication terminal capable of reducing useless power consumption in a secondary reception part, and a radio communication method. SOLUTION: A control part 4 acquires regulation information for regulating the connection of an access channel from a regulation information acquisition part 7 in the state of operating diversity and performing communication, compares the acquired regulation information for regulating the connection of the access channel with the previously stored regulation information for regulating the connection of the access channel stored in a storage part 6, and when a regulation degree is higher in the acquired regulation information for regulating the connection of the access channel, stops a diversity operation.
