A recording medium record/playback method and apparatus are provided to resolve instability of servo and improve the signal to noise ratio of record/playback signal. A recording medium record/playback method comprises a step of separating beam reflected or diffracted from a recording medium by using a beam splitter(S110), a step of receiving a part of one or more of the separated beams and generating a first signal(S120), a step of receiving the whole parts of one or more of the separated beams and generating a second signal(S130), and a step of detecting tilt or/and de-center of the recording medium by using the first and second signals(S140,S150).
