The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner, comprising a dust collecting compartment (4), an intake sleeve (16) projecting into the dust collecting compartment, a bag holder (10) inside the dust collecting compartment and an access lid, separated from the intake sleeve, for permitting access to the dust collecting compartment, wherein a dust bag is insertable into the bag holder. The vacuum cleaner also comprises a stop member (14) on the bag holder (10) adjacent the access lid and a positioning member (17) inside the dust collecting compartment (4), wherein the bag holder may assume a third position beyond the second position and is spring loaded by means of a spring member towards the third position, such that when no dust bag (5) is present in the bag holder, the bag holder is displaced, by means of the spring member, to the third position, in which the stop member prevents closing of the access lid, whereas when a dust bag is present in the bag holder, the bag holder is brought to the second position by means of the spring member and is stopped in the second position by the positioning member in the dust collecting compartment abutting against the dust bag, such that the stop member do not interfere with the closing of the access lid. |
