The invention relates to a method, a system and a computer-readable support for microburst testing. The claimed method consists in connecting a multitude of ports of a network switch to be tested to a multitude of ports of a network equipment testing device, defining a test which comprises one or several testing cycles, where each testing cycle includes a multitude of time intervals and, at each such interval, the data packets of the multitude of ports of the network equipment testing device are transmitted to a single network port of the network switch to be tested, initiating a replication number which defines a number of consecutive time intervals in which the packets are transmitted to a same port of the tested network switch, performing an exemplification of the test using the replication number in order to define the number of consecutive time intervals in which the data packets are transmitted to the same port of network switch to be tested, monitoring the data packets received by each port of network switch to be tested, in order to determine an indication of the buffer memory capacity for each port of the network switch to be tested. |
