PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device exhibiting a high front contrast and suppressing display unevenness.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal cell 20 include: an array substrate 100 disposed on a side close to a second polarizing plate 60 and having a thin film transistor and a color filter 230 disposed thereon; a counter substrate 200 disposed on a side close to a first polarizing plate 40 and opposing to the array substrate 100; and a liquid crystal layer 300 comprising liquid crystal molecules and held between the array substrate 100 and the counter substrate 200. The second polarizing plate 60 includes a second polarizer 62 and a protective film 64(F3) disposed between the second polarizer 62 and the array substrate 100. The protective film 64 (F3) includes a transparent polymer base layer and a resin layer disposed on a surface of the transparent polymer base layer, the surface on a side close to the second polarizer 62, and comprising a thermoplastic resin containing a polyether unit, a polyester unit or a polyacrylic unit. An adhesive layer comprising a cured product of a photocurable resin is disposed between the resin layer and the second polarizer 62.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
