PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water treatment system in which the chlorine concentration of ballast water can be increased.SOLUTION: A ballast water treatment system 10 is characterized in that a solid-state disinfectant 5 consisting of trichloroisocyanuric acid is immersed in the ballast water 2 in a ballast tank 1. The ballast water treatment system 10 further includes chemical position adjusting means 3. The chemical position adjusting means 3 holds the solid-state disinfectant 5 in such a state that the chemical position adjusting means can be moved between a first position, when the disinfectant 5 is immersed in the ballast water 2 in the ballast tank 1, and a second position, when the disinfectant 5 is withdrawn from the ballast water 2. When the disinfectant 5 is held at the first position, the disinfectant is dissolved in the ballast water 2 so that the chlorine concentration of the ballast water 2 can be increased. As a result, microbes, bacteria or the like existing in the ballast water 2 can be annihilated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
