PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision mitigation device for mitigating collision between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle for improving the reliability of operation determination being determination of whether to operate a controlled object and reliability as the system of the collision mitigation device.SOLUTION: An operation determination arithmetic part 15B is configured to, when a diagnostic signal is not detected, determine whether to operate a controlled object 16 on the basis of a calculation result (FSN information) by an FSN arithmetic part 14 and the vehicle state of an own vehicle input by a vehicle state input part 13. An operation determination arithmetic part 15C is configured to diagnose that operation determination by the operation determination arithmetic part 15B has been appropriately performed. When it is diagnosed that the operation determination by the operation determination arithmetic part 15B has been appropriately performed, controlling the controlled object 16 on the basis of the operation determination is permitted, and when it is diagnosed that the operation determination by the operation determination arithmetic part 15B has not been appropriately performed, controlling the controlled object 16 on the basis of the operation determination is not permitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
