PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of controlling a paper passing part temperature to a proper temperature, when printing a recording medium narrower than the temperature detection area of an infrared sensor, such as a narrow width paper.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes heaters 40 and 41 capable of heat control, a fixing belt 31 which is heated by the heaters 40 and 41 and supplies heat to a recording medium 2 by a paper passing part through which the recording medium 2 passes, an infrared sensor 7 which detects the temperature of a predetermined temperature detection area on the fixing belt 31 before supplying the heat to the recording medium 2, and a control part which heat-controls the heaters 40 and 41. When the width of the recording medium 2 is narrower than the width in the lateral direction of the temperature detection area, the control part corrects the detection temperature of the infrared sensor 7, to perform heat control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
