PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device permitting high-speed writing and the accurate beam strength correction of respective laser diodes, and accurate beam strength correction of respective laser diodes in the correcting method of beam strength of a picture recording device employing a plurality of laser diodes. SOLUTION: The image recording device is provided with an optical unit 32, having a plurality of laser diodes, laser diode driving circuits D320A, D320B, D320C, driving a plurality of laser diode while adding a bias to an image output signal, and a beam strength measuring element S1, measuring the beam strength of beams emitted from the plurality of laser diodes respectively. In this case, the laser diode-driving circuit switches over a bias of at least one of the plurality of laser diodes at a time for measuring the beam strength of beams projected out of respective plurality of laser diodes, and for recording an image.
