PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of an optical transmission system which performs redundant transmission.SOLUTION: A communication device includes: a frame processing unit which outputs a division frame, having an added error detection code, to each transmission channel; a redundant transmission channel processing unit which detects an abnormal transmission channel on the basis of the error detection code included in the division frame, and generates restoration information on the basis of the division frame of the transmission channel in which an abnormality is not detected, and adds an error detection code to the redundant transmission frame which includes the generated restoration information to output to the redundant transmission channel; an error correction processing unit which adds error correction codes to the division frame and the redundant transmission frame; and an input/output unit which inputs and outputs the division frame and the redundant transmission frame from/to a transmission line. The redundant transmission channel processing unit performs error detection processing on the received division frame and the redundant transmission frame, to restore a division frame, in which an error is detected, on the basis of the restoration information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
