PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute monitor output of data during communication to monitor equipment, while preventing data destruction, when connecting the monitor equipment to an unused connector in a data input/output device. SOLUTION: This data input/output device has data lines 61T-64R of a main transmission line having the data lines and control lines; data lines 71T-78R of a plurality of sub transmission lines, each having the data lines and control lines; a control line connection part for connecting the mutual control lines in the main transmission line and the plurality of sub transmission lines; data line connection parts 51, 52 for connecting the mutual data lines about the main transmission line and one of the plurality of sub transmission lines to form a two-way main communications channel about the data; and monitor line connection parts 55, 56 connecting a monitor line (one of MT1-MR4) connected to the data line of the other sub transmission line to the data line (one of 61T-64R) of the main communications channel of the data, when a monitor requirement signal is inputted from the other sub transmission line, other than the sub transmission line constituting the main communications channel via the control line.
