PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a pot treatment, which is capable of treating samples such as cloth under treating conditions relatively close to those of an actual machine and also capable of performing an excellent test treatment without forming wrinkles or causing treatment unevenness during the treatment, and to provide an apparatus for the pot treatment, which is used for the same. SOLUTION: A pot 11 housing an object to be treated and a treating liquid is attached to a supporting table 17, a mechanism consisting of crank shafts 41, 41' and cam plates 42, 42' is connected at both the left and right sides of the supporting table 17, rotating the cam plates 42, 42' for moving the supporting table 17 up and down repeatedly so as to give repeated impacts to the object to be treated and the treating liquid in the pot 11.
