Provided is a speaker device provided with speaker units having different apertures and sound emitting directions, wherein the speaker device is capable of suppressing variations in sound quality at a listening position, resulting from changes in the orientation in which the speaker device is installed. A speaker device (10) is fitted with first and second speaker units (23L, 23R, 24L, 24R)having different apertures and different sound emitting directions. The speaker device (10) can be installed with the first speaker units (23L, 23R) placed on a rack facing the listening position, and with the second speaker units (24L, 24R) hanging on a wall facing the listening position. A controller (41) controls an equalizer adjusting unit (47) in accordance with the device installation orientation, to adjust the frequency characteristics of the acoustic signals input into the first and second speaker units (23L, 23R, 24L, 24R), in such a way that the sound quality does not vary at the listening position as a result of differences between the aperture or the sound emitting direction. |
