Provided are: a rotation-angle detection device capable of detecting the rotation angle of a rotating shaft even when a magnetic detection unit fails; and a power steering device. The present invention is equipped with: a first magnetic detection unit for detecting changes in the direction or size of a magnetic field, and provided on a rotating shaft; a second magnetic detection unit for detecting changes in the direction or size of a magnetic field, provided on the rotating shaft, and positioned in a location offset in the rotating-shaft direction from the first magnetic detection unit; and a magnet provided so as to be capable of rotation relative to the first and second magnetic detection units, provided to the outside of the first and second magnetic detection units in the radial direction relative to the rotating shaft, and positioned in a manner such that the N and S poles face one another with the rotating shaft in the center therebetween. The present invention detects the rotation angle of the magnet relative to the first and second magnetic detection units on the basis of output signals from the first and second magnetic detection units. |
