PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system having high convenience.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a memory system can be connected to an external host. The memory system includes: a nonvolatile first storage device including a first storage area; and a controller. In the first storage area, data received from the host is stored. The controller performs control to write data and read data for the first storage device. The first storage area has a second size which is larger than a first size that is the size of a logical address space of the memory system. The controller receives a request to change the first size from the host and according to the request, changes the first size while at least part of data in the logical address space is kept in a valid state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 28 |
