The invention relates to a method for the continuous dehydration of aqueous 3-hydroxypropionic acid to give acrylic acid in the liquid phase, where the liquid phase contains from 5 to 95% by weight of an aprotic polar solvent and aqueous acrylic acid is continuously distilled from the liquid phase, where a portion of the liquid phase is removed as liquid residue and passed onwards to a distillation process 1, the liquid residue is distilled in the distillation process 1, and the distillate from the distillation process 1 is returned to the continuous dehydration process, where the average molar mass of the oligomers present in the liquid residue in the feed to the distillation process 1 is less than 80 000 g/mol. |
