The invention relates to a method for a system to find at least one behavior-similar alternative component (3) to an original component (2) of the system, comprising the following steps: subjecting the original component (2) and each possible alternative component (3) with a respective test signal (6, 7), and detecting a respective output signal (11, 12) describing a temporal course of a reaction to the at least one test signal (6, 7) on the original component (2) and each possible alternative component (3). For each pair of components from the original component (2) on the one hand, and a respective possible alternative component (3) on the other hand, at least one respective error signal (15, 16) is formed, and each error signal (15, 16) is combined to form a respective indicator value. From each indicator value, a key performance indicator (18), SVI, is formed. Each of those possible alternative components (3), where the key indicator value (18) meets a preset similarity criterion, is selected as the at least one behavior-similar alternative component (3). |
